Chapter 12
Jessie
He lived five minutes from Billy’s Lounge, but it felt like five hours. Jessie kept his hands off her and on the wheel. He tried not to even look at her. But failed.
They parked in the garage next to his building, and he guided her to his place. He was on the top floor of a three-story building. He’d put clothes away and washed dishes just in case she consented to have a drink here with him.
“Well?” He wanted her to know he wasn’t a slob. He didn’t know why he wanted her to know that, but he did.
“This is nice.” She walked over to the windows and looked out to the street.
“Thanks.” He came up behind her and inhaled. It made sense that she always vaguely smelled of flowers.
Jessie wrapped his arms around her and drew her back into him. The soft curve of her against him was more than he could take. He leaned down and kissed her neck. He loved the skin there. It was so soft. She moaned in response. She may have been a feisty redheaded Irish girl, but she responded to him like she was made for him. Or maybe it was the opposite.
He turned her to face him and kissed her lips. They were both still a little soaked from the rain, and her dress clung to her in ways that set his mind racing.
Their hips moved together. He was nearly a foot taller than Ash, but they fit together. Jessie reached around and found the zipper in the back of her dress. He slid it down and moved his hands inside to touch her skin. He was so ready to take her. Now. But he wanted a moment to really see her.
Somewhere inside him, he knew she was the one from the second he’d looked into her eyes in the gym. He knew he wanted to hold every part of her. But he had zero experience turning attraction into love. Did it just happen? Did she feel like he did?
He brushed the questions aside. Whatever was happening between them, he didn’t want to question it. It was good and powerful, and he was lucky as hell, he decided.
Jessie slid the dress from her shoulders, and it fell to the floor.
He gasped when he saw Ash’s body, in the black bra and panties. Jesus, she was more gorgeous every time he saw her.
Ash surprised him them. She slid back and unhooked her bra. He stared. He was hypnotized by her movements. She shimmied out of her panties, and there she was. Glorious, perfect, ready for him. Jessie wanted to touch then taste every inch of her skin.
He scooped her up. She let out a little squeal. He walked her to the bedroom and put her on the bed.
“I don’t want to crush you,” he said, and it was true. He wondered if he was too heavy for her. When they were together before he held her up.
“You won’t,” she said in her cute accent.
